BioMed Realty | 450 Kendall Street – Cambridge, MA

Siena oversaw BMR’s office renovation project at 450 Kendall Street, a Class A building in Cambridge. The project involved upgrades to the 10,300 square foot leasing office’s elevator lobby, reception area, private offices and open office space, board room, conference room, huddle areas, lunch room, production, restrooms, and support spaces.

One unique aspect of the construction involved the installation of a single-rower vintage scull boat, requiring a crane-lift from the ground onto the fifth floor of the occupied office building. The 21-foot scull ties in Kendall’s geography and history. With the mixed-use building located just a half-mile from the Charles River and the waterway’s iconic history of crew activity, particularly the annual Head of the Charles Regatta. Coupled with expansive views of the surrounding neighborhood, this unique installation is sure to be a conversation starter with visitors and end-users of BMR’s offices.
