It is with the deepest regret that we inform you of the passing of Patrick T. Hayes, the founder of Siena Construction Corporation.

Patrick was well loved by all who were fortunate enough to have known him and will be missed dearly by family, friends and colleagues.

Patrick Terrence Hayes, age 68, of Dennis, formerly of Quincy, passed away at home, Thursday, March 19, 2015. He was born on March 17, 1947 in Pittsfield and graduated from Saint Joseph’s High School. After attending Siena College, he began a career in construction management with Vappi Corporation in Cambridge. He managed large projects for the firm in Metro-Boston, Kuwait and Colorado before settling with his family in Quincy. In 1991, he formed his Cambridge based Siena Construction Corporation, a construction management firm that successfully helped to change the Boston and Cambridge skylines and grew with the biotech industry.

Patrick moved to Dennis in 1999 where he oversaw Siena’s operations and participated in civic and charitable projects. He was a lover of the Red Sox, Patriots and Celtics, food shows, mysteries and all things Irish and British. He loved spending time with his family and friends and with “sand in his shoes” loved travelling. He enjoyed following his children and friends around the world. He was a thoughtful and loving man who always reminded his family and friends to “keep the faith”. Beloved husband of the late Susan E. (Martin) Hayes. Devoted father of Terrence P. Hayes and his wife Lara of Arlington, Sarah E. Hayes of Ventura, CA and Anne M. Hayes of Dennis. Loving grandfather of Casey. One of nine siblings, he was brother of Charles Hayes of Atlanta, GA, Maggie Campbell of Braintree, Kevin Hayes of Hanover, Tessie Doyle of Rockland and pre-deceased by Bernie and David Hayes, Jane Joubert and Helen Hayes. Patrick is also survived by many nieces, nephews, grandnieces, grandnephews.

Funeral from the Sweeney Brothers Home for Funerals, 1 Independence Avenue, QUINCY, Wednesday, March 25th at 9 a.m. Funeral Mass in Saint John the Baptist Church, 44 School Street, Quincy at 10 o’clock. Relatives and friends are invited to attend. Visiting Hours at the funeral home Tuesday 4 – 8 p.m. Interment Pine Hill Cemetery, West Quincy.
