Siena Construction has been chosen to outfit LiquiGlide, a Cambridge-based startup, with new laboratory and office space. LiquiGlide is relocating its production to a multi-use 11,000 square foot facility in the innovative nexus of Kendall Square. The headquarters will expand the development, research and testing capabilities for the rapidly growing company, already gaining national attention for their products.

Originally developed at the MIT labs, LiquiGlide coating lubricates consumer-packages with an organic liquid material. This allows users to empty containers completely, cutting down on consumer waste of infamously sticky products such as ketchup, mayonnaise, toothpaste, hair gel, paint, and sunscreen. LiquiGlide’s developers believe their product has further reaching capabilities in manufacturing, energy and environmental industries.

The facility’s design includes laboratories, offices, a lounge, and canteen area. Siena will oversee the demolition and build-out of existing space by installing lab casework, electrical, and tel-data, while salvaging existing materials.

Siena brings an experienced construction group to the project. Our team has been involved at the existing job site from the first days of ground up construction to the present, including work in many occupied areas. Siena is implementing plans by Margolis and Fishman Architects, and continues to collaborate closely with property manager Forest City Enterprises.
